Once upon a time in a small coastal town lived a young girl named Cindy-Lee

She was brave, she was passionate and she was purpose driven. She sang her heart out at charity events for children and special needs homes. At the mere age of 17 she discovered a treasure – the power of music.

After she received her matric certificate, she set sail on her 12 year journey with an international company to develop young children through music and musical activities. Along the way she improved her skills through teacher, child development and business workshops. She also started working towards her BEd Foundation Phase degree in 2020.

While on this journey her heart became sad as she realised that the gap is too wide. You see, this international programme did not fill the need of the South African child, it was not context driven and did not seek to develop those who need it most – children from low socio-economic households.

So, she picked up her gear and started to work through sweat and tears, moulding, chiselling and shaping….

A programme that will reach into the lives of every young South African child regardless of where they are from, to shine Joy from their hearts, engage their minds in endless possibilities and strengthen their bodies through music and play.

A programme that envisions to train up teachers and parents from various communities to share in the treasure and to leave a powerful legacy within each child, our future leaders. This is Music Tree, birthed in November 2022, a proudly South African programme.
